Janell G. Hill - Class of 1998

Janell Glennette Hill received dual degrees from the Howard University Medical and the Howard University Graduate Schools on May 9, 2009. She received the Doctor of Medicine Degree and the Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the 141st Convocation, Howard University, Washington, DC. Her research specialization is Breast Cancer Genetics.

Janell was the first female student at Howard University to complete both degrees at the same time. She was also one of five exemplary students to speak at the Annual Graduate School Ceremony. Janell was recognized at the Medical School Ceremony as the only M.D./PH.D student to graduate this year and was recognized for her excellence in research and service to the College of Medicine.

Janell graduated with honors from Hillside High School in 1998 and with honors from Hampton University, Hampton, Virginia, in 2002. She has begun a three-year residency program in Family Medicine at the Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hill is the daughter of Howard Hill (Class of '63) and Carrie Hill.
