Deborah George Giles, Director of City of Durham's Department of Equal Opportunity/Equity Assurance, gives the Small Business Award to Jesse Callis.

The Multicultural Business & Professional Network of the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce held its fifth annual Circle of Influence Diversity Awards on June 25, 2008, recognizing individuals and businesses for their commitment to diversity in the workplace and community.

The award winner in the Individual category, was Deborah Giles.

Under her leadership, since May of 2003, small disadvantaged businesses have been awarded 18 percent of the total dollars in construction and professional service.
